Subintes (persons called to the Torah)

A subinte is the person called to the Torah. He says the berachot, but does not read from the Torah himself, that is done by the chazzan. Subir in Portuguese means to clime, to go up. So it is a translation of לעלות

When the Chazzan calls himself.

He adds סמוך or משלים if he is 6th or 7th. He skips the ה' עמכם and the congregation says the אמן after the beracha.
