Parashah & Shofar for Rosh Hashanah
This page describes the ceremonies around Torahh reading and the Shofar blowing (תקיעות דמיושב) on Rosh Hashanah.
As most of it is identical to a regular Shabbat, this is not copied here. This page starts from 11th row from bottom of the table Ttefillot page 138), the announcement of the upcoming fast, in this case, the fast of Gedalya.
During “sitting blasts” (תקיעות דמיושב) the שברים-תרועה tones are blown as a single tone. During this blowing, the congregants are actually sitting, only the Tokea and the Samuch are standing. The Tokea is standing on the left corner of the Tebah, the Samuch to his right. The Samuch reads out the tones to blow in a low voice, loud enough for the Tokea to hear.
Recordings: NN tape 25 starting minute 23:25. It seems that tape 25b is missing. AAV (see his annotations, page 21) complemented this. Still, some parts were taken from other tapes, JBS added one item.
Grayed areas are for Shabbat only (unless stated differently)

Chazzan was already standing in the left corner of the Tebah. Congregants are sitting during the singing and Shofar blowing.
Sung. After the first verse the Chazzan repeats the chorus. After the next verses he repeats והמזבח. After the penultimate verse he again repeats the chorus
On Shabbat replace in the last verse ושמע תקיעה... by ושמע תפילה …
After the last verse he repeats the complete verse.
When the Chazzan sings the words ושמע תקיעה he bows to the Tokea who takes out his Shofar and starts walking slowly towards the Tebah, arriving at the stairs when the Chazzan repeats the words ינון. When the Chazzan finishes the word שולח the Tokea stands on the normal place of the Chazzan. |

The Tokea says the berachot, שהחיינו only on the first day of blowing.
שברים-תרועה are blown connected.
The Samuch stands to the left of the Chazzan close to the Tokea, so he can hear him reading out the tones in a low voice.
After the blowing, the Tokea leaves the Shofar on the Tebah and goes to the bench of the Tebah and the Chazzan reruns to the left corner.

The congregation sings Mizmor ledavid. The Chazzan, while starting the first two words, bows towards the Heichal. The procession returns to the Heichal in the following order: acompanhador, levador (sefer carrier, 1st, 2nd sefer), Chazzan, Parnas (carrying the ponteiro). At the gate before the Heichal the Chazzan lets the Parnas enter first. At arrival the sefer is placed in the Heichal, the Parnas hands the ponteiro to the Abridor, who tucks it into the band wrapped around the Sefer, pointing up
