Regalim – List of all services
The original, not indexed, recordings by Chazzan Nunes Nabarro can be found on tapes 5-11.
Mind that no service was completely recorded. In order to present complete Services, I used recordings from weekdays, Shabbat and even from Yamim Noraim by Nabarro and others. The short כתר for Mussaf Medianos (Chol Hamoed) was extracted from the long Shabbat version by JBS.
In view of this, recordings are not always 100% correct. E.g. sometimes the recording has משיב הרוח whilst it should be מוריד הטל. Also, יעלה ויבא is missing in most recordings. Inserting it is a lot of work, which may be done in a later stage, בע”ה. There is however a note on every occasion with a link to a recording, which may, of course, have the wrong Yom Tov mentioned. There is also sometimes an overlap between two adjacent recordings.
All Services are ready in draft version and can be reached via the Hyperlink. Services mentioned [between brackets] do not have their own page, but share a regular service. In the list below these are Hyperlinked to the relevant page.

The Pesach Hagada (Cardozo 1893). Recording can be found elsewhere on this site. Some remarks:
We use three Hagada (Seder) plates, see Dutch text on page 2. The first plate is used for the “Simoerim”, the three matzoth shemurot. The second plate is used for the carpas, the salt water or the vinegar, the lattice, the maror and the charoset. The third plate is used for the boiled egg and the roasted bone, which must have cezait meat on it. A serviette is used to cover the matzoth when the cups are lifted, or a berachah is recited on the wine. |
Older versions of the Haggadah end on page 20 after the blessing on the 4th cup. The songs were added later, but not introduced in all families. Mind that the Cardozo edition from 1859 with Dutch translation doesn’t have the songs. |

Sukkot
On Sukkot, the berachah לישב בסוכה is only recited when bread is eaten, just after the המציא. On Shabbat and Yom Tov, when Kiddush is made, לישב בסוכה is said after the Kiddush, but must be followed by המציא later. For this reason in Snoge, we always make המציא at the communal Kiddush after the Shabbat and Yom Tov service. |
On Shemini Atzeret we eat all meals in the Sukkah with an open roof but without the Berachah לישב בסוכה. Although not mandatory, we do make המציא at the communal Kiddush after the service. |
On the first night of Sukkot we say לישב בסוכה before שהחיינו. On the second night we say שהחיינו before לישב בסוכה. |
On the first six days of Sukkot we have the minhag to decorate the Lulavim with colorful bows, as can be seen on the picture. The bows are removed before Hashaana Rabbah.(picture; DCP)

Waving of the Lulav:
During the Berachah, the Etrog is kept in the left hand and the Lulav in the right hand. The hands are kept apart. Only after the Berachah the hands are joined, so Lulav and Etrog meet. |
After the Berachah we wave the Lulav to all six directions: three times to the east, then turn with the whole body to the south and wave three times, then turn with the whole body (see e.g. ספר מאה ברכות Amsterdam 5447-1687 page 161 “ויקיף דרך ימין” and כתר שם טוב part 7 pages 74-75 and קיצור שולחן ערוך השלם, רפאל ברוך טולידאנו part 2 page 355) to the west and wave three times, and finally turn to the north and wave three times. When back facing the east, we wave three times up and three times down. |
During Hallel we wave to all six directions:
once at הודו לה’ כי טוב, |
twice at אנא ה’ הושיע נא |
twice at הודו לה’ כי טוב at the end of ברוך הבא. |
From the start of Musaph we hold the lulav and keep it till the end of the Hosha’anot. |
On Sukkot, for the Sefer Torah mantles and Teba cloth green is used. |
The order when returning the Sefer hosha’anot:
At ככתוב הושיע את עמך the Sefer is brought back to the Hechal, |
קדיש תתקבל in front of the hechal, |
offertas for the persons carrying the Sefer Hosha’anot, |
Hechal is closed, |
Chazzan returns to the Tebah, reciting כל ישראל יש להם חלק on Yom Tov, or psalm 42 כאיל תערוג on medianos (Chol Hamoed) on his way. |
Hoshana Rabbah night we have a limud. |
Hoshana Rabbah morning the big candlesticks in front of the Hechal are replaced by thick candles
On Hoshana Rabbah the Shofar is blown during the 13 midot (Shofar blowing end of recording) |
