Waving of the Lulav

During the Berachah, the Etrog is kept in the left hand and the Lulav in the right hand. The hands are kept apart. Only after the Berachah the hands are joined, so Lulava and terog meet
|
|
After the Beracha we wave the Lulav to all six directions: three times to the east, then turn with the whole body to the south and wave three times, then turn with the whole body (see כתר שם טוב part 7 pages 74-75 and קיצור שולחן ערוך השלם, רפאל ברוך טולידאנו part 2 page 355) to the west and wave three times, and finally turn to the north and wave three times. When back facing the east, we wave three times up and three times down. See clip on waving the Lulav.

Duchan (Bircat Kohanim).
Kohanim take off shoes (with laces) and their hands are washed by Levi’im or in their absence, by Bechorim (eldest) between the Kedushah and Retseh. At Retseh they take their place in front of, and facing the Heichal. When the Chazzan reads “Ha’El hatov”, they cover their head with the tallith.
