Festive  Shabbatot

This page is still under review!

There are three festive Shabbatot:

Shabbat Hagadol (שבת הגדול): the Shabbat before Pesach

Shabbat Nachamu (שבת נחמו): the Shabbat after 9 Ab where we commemorate the inauguration of the Snoge in 1675,

Shabbat Bershit (שבת בראשית): the Shabbat on which the Chatan Bereshit reads the whole Parasha, as a continuation of his reading on Simchat Torah a few days before. This was stopped after ww2.

In the table below the changes in the evening (ערבית) and morning services (שחרית) are shown, including recordings and sheet music (marked blue) where available. Simchat Torah is added, as it has the same changes and melodies.

Recordings: EA, NN, DIR, NLI, dir is unknown singer in DIR collection
