Zemirot for WeekdaysThis page describes the Zemirot for normal weekdays, including Rosh Chodesh, Medianos (chol hamo’ed Pesach and Succot but not Hosha’ana Rabba), Chanuka, Purim and the public fasts, excluding Kippur and 9 Ab. The Chazzan is standing on the Teba, Tsibur (congregation) is sitting. The Chazzan can sit if he desires to do so, and indeed, I remember some Chazzanim sitting. If he decides to sit, he must stand with the tsibur during ברכות השחר (page 35), אנא בכח(page 42), קדיש (page 45), ה' הוא האלקים - ה' מלך (page 48), ברוך שאמר (page 54) and ויברך דויד ...לך משתחוים (page 59). In general, the chazzan recites aloud only the first sentence of each mizmor. The last sentence is sung by the community, and then the by the chazzan. Some sentences in the middle of a mizmor are recited aloud. All are standing during Kaddish Recordings: NN, tape 1a till minute 15:55 Greyed texts indicate parts which are added on specific days.
